Road Transport and Workers Union: Don't try to educate us with bread / Action

07.08.2021 NOW IS THE TIME FOR UNITY! Let us Unite Under the Roof of KATAS-SEN! Fellow Worker Brothers; For years, we have been working in inhuman and unruly conditions without any social rights and with low wages. The fate of our fobs and the bread we earn with great effort, are between the lips of the bosses or chief drivers. If we make the slightest objection or ask for our rights, we come across the words “if it doesn't work for you, whether you work or you can leave, you know the way to leave here, the door is there”. There are gaps in wages, social rights, working hours and conditions with other IETT (istanbul electric tramway and tunnel establishments ) employees, with whom we do the same job. Our fellow chauffeurs don't get much, but we work under conditions of starvation and slavery. Deductions are made with arbitrary penalties, mostly with reports that are not based on official records. The work clothes for which they are paid, are not given to us by almost any company. We work on weekdays, there is no overtime pay, there is no overtime pay for public holidays and religious holidays. It is true that these are in the labor laws, but we can not get them because we are not united. Until now, the bosses have been able to maintain this arbitrary working system because of our loneliness and our lack of unity. Fellow Worker Brothers; These bad working conditions are not our destiny! The bosses are empowered by our lack of unity, acting together and our being unorganized, and they determine everything on their own. The wages are so low that many of our friends are trying to solve their urgent economic problems by taking their severance pay which are so low, every year. Almost all of us can not spend decent time with our families due to overworking and we spend our lives without seeing the faces of our children. Our children who sleep in the morning when we leave are asleep when we come in the evening. The prices are so low that we are tired of eating pasta and potatoes! Let alone living humanly, we can not even provide them with adequate nutrition. With economic problems, the unity of our families is dissolving. Only together can we solve and will solve all our problems! In order to prevent the participation of the drivers in our union's press statement about these bad conditions, they tried to prevent our union and scare us by sending all the chief drivers there, threatening our friends with the lie that their certificates would be revoked. But the lies, threats and attacks do not hold. Every day, dozens of our friends join the union, our union is getting stronger. Yesterday, we were snowflakes, tomorrow we will be avalanches! We will take back all the rights you stole from us! KATAS-SEN union executives are the worker drivers. We are here with our labour union leader, managers and all boards. We will not stop until a single driver friend of ours is not alone on ERGUVAN and other PUBLIC BUSES, until all drivers unite in KATAS-SEN and get all our rights, equal wages are achieved, and a humane working system is established! With the lawyers of our union who have repeatedly proven that they are on the side of the workers, we are calling out for our rights what we had done before with our deeds and also before the law and the acts. For the first time in Turkey's history, there is a union for the drivers to organize. We are everywhere. If we stop, the city stops, the country stops, the world stops. We, the drivers are strong, we will win! Now it's time to unite under the roof of the driver's union, KATAS-SEN! Now is the time to become a member of KATAS-SEN to get our stolen rights!
