I APPROVE THE DRAFT DRIVER PROFESSIONAL LAW

Every day, as paid drivers, we travel thousands of kilometers on Turkey’s roads, connecting continents by reaching from Europe to Asia and the Middle East. We are the backbone of economic life. After years of witnessing low social security premiums, the loss of severance rights, and insecure working conditions, we now want this to come to an end.

Prepared with dedication by KATAŞ-SEN (Road Transport Workers’ Union) and the USD International Drivers Association to protect the rights of paid drivers, the 21-article Draft Law on the Drivers’ Profession aims to carry the common demands of all drivers into a legal framework. This draft law seeks to provide drivers with long-term professional security and social rights.

Regulations that remain only on paper are no longer sufficient; we are seeking real and lasting solutions. We want to bring this important law into force to improve our working conditions and ensure job security.

Having a law equipped with economic and social protections is the most fundamental right of paid drivers.
