We held a very productive meeting with Bilal Malkawi, former ITF Arab Regional Secretary and current Head of the Aviation and Tourism Sections, and Deniz Akdoğan, Head of the ITF Rail Workers Section, from the ITF (International Transport Workers' Federation) delegation. Our union's General President Şahin Başaraner, our founding director and President of the International Drivers' Association Fikri Beran, and our union's General Secretary Özgür Çiftçi attended the meeting on behalf of our union. The General President of TSS İŞ and a Yapı Yol İş organizing expert were also present.
During the meeting, we primarily discussed the problems faced by drivers in our country and the obstacles to organizing. We mutually evaluated our common areas of work and shared our thoughts on methods of struggle. It was a constructive and friendly conversation for both parties. Our meetings, mutual information, and solidarity will continue.
